Welcome back for our fall semester 2010! We are really excited to get this year going and have some wonderful new opportunities for everyone! We also can not wait for our new SAGE members to join!
For Applicants!
Applications are now available online. Click on the 'Fall 2010 Application' page in the column to the left. Once there, you can download the application, fill it out, and return it to Room 140 in the Education Building (It is the Office of Advancement). Please make sure you submit your application by 5 p.m. on September 3, 2010. Interviews will take place September 7th and September 8th. You will sign up for an interview time when turning in an application. We look forward to meeting you.

Hello All! So we will be having our LAST SAGE meeting for this semester on Tuesday, April 27th at 8 p.m in Room 192 Education Building. (Today)
We will be having a PIZZA PARTY!
We will be talking about the changes we will see in the FALL and how you can be apart of it. We will also talk about membership and how we can get SAGE the best it can be!

Hello SAGErs!
It's finally time for our Dr. Krizic event! Dr. Lynn Krizic is the Superintendent of Elmhurst School District. She will be here, at the University of Illinois, on Tuesday, April 20th (TODAY)! Please join us in 120 Architecture Building. She is planning on talking about interview skills, job placements, and what current/future educators should be aware of when entering the education world.

Website Issues Finally Solved! 
All SAGE members should have received an evite to join our website. Please make sure you do so, as we are going to be using this website as a key source of communication. Please make sure you sign up with your first and last initial (or full last name). This makes it easy for us to identify you as a member, and keep out random people. Here's how you can change it to your name: First, sign into the website. Second, in the side bar click on "edit profile." Third, in the name box, change it to your name and you could also upload a picture and fill out the about me section. THANKS!

One last thing! I was able to talk to someone in charge of the domain for this website to figure out the email problems. Just use the 'Forgot Your Password' option and use your original email that you used to sign in with. They will send you your password and you'll be able to sign up to the website again!

Dessert Hour
Hey SAGErs, Dessert Social Hour is HERE! This Tuesday, March 9th at 7 PM in Room 192 we will be having amazing snacks and meeting people from the Office of Advancement. Come hungry and ready to meet other SAGErs and the people who support our club!

Meeting
Hi SAGErs! It's meeting time again! Our third meeting is tomorrow at 8:00 pm in the College of Education ROOM 42A! Please be aware that we will not be in Room 2. We, as your exec board, have decided that we're going to try out a different room. We think that this room is more of an interactive environment and are really excited to try it out! Please be there tomorrow! We look forward to seeing you all!

Website Issues
If you are having difficulties signing up with the website, you're not alone. I just tried to sign up myself and its says I already have an account then it says that its invalid. NO WORRIES, I'm going to call the company tomorrow and see what they say. If worse comes to worse, you'll just have to use another email account.

Elections and New Executive Board Nominations:
On November 3rd, we will be voting for the next SAGE Executive Board. Until October 30th, you may nominate yourself and or another SAGE member for an Executive Board position. Please e-mail Josh (jbodenh2@illinois.edu) with the name of the individual you are nominating (yourself and or another SAGE member) as well as the position you are nominating the individual for. All nominations must be received by October 30th for consideration. (President, VP Membership, VP Events, VP Programs, VP Fundraising, VP Publicity, Webmaster/mistress, and Volunteer Coordinator are all of the positions on the Executive Board.)

On behalf of the Student Advancement Group for Education (SAGE), we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your contributions to this year's Thornton Fractional High School Book Drive. With your help, SAGE was able to donate approximately 300 books to Thornton Fractional High School in the suburbs of Chicago. These books will be used to support childhood literacy and education. We cannot thank you enough for your donations and efforts in this manner.
